Ukraine Crisis

Ukraine

As Russia continues to invade Ukraine, communities are looking for supplies to help those civilians who have evacuated and fled their homes. Charities have come together to focus all of their efforts on the humanitarian crisis, trying to provide emergency assistance, psychological support, training in medicine, casualty kits, food, donations and other vital items.  Collection points are busier than ever with continued support. The civilians of Ukraine are in our thoughts as they face unimaginable suffering.

Ukraine Drop Off Point

Red Deer Village in Stepps, Glasgow, would like to offer its’ residents hub as a drop off point to all residents and visitors for donating supplies. We will transport all donated items to a local collection point. Plenty of local churches are transporting donated items by lorry to refugees in Poland. Donations can include blankets, warm or thermal clothing such as hats, scarves and gloves and sleeping bags. First aid kits are also welcome, as well as toiletries, such as toothbrushes and toothpaste.

We aim to help provide Ukrainian people with essentials that they no longer have access to. With many now homeless, warm clothing are now invaluable.  Hygienic supplies will also help vulnerable families stay clean and protect them from disease.

Red Deer Village Charity Work

Red Deer Village prides itself in supporting various charities and holding regular charity events. These include Macmillan coffee events, our annual Salvation Army Christmas present donation and charity bake sales. We also have a charity box that sits on our coffee bar, the proceeds of which are rotated monthly. We have helped charities such as Help for Heroes, Children in Need and the Butterfly Trust. The park directors have already made a contribution. We’d love for any of our residents to get involved!
