What is your position at Red Deer Village?

Administrative Assistant

What does your role entail?

I have a number of roles at Red Deer; holiday park reception, advertising, website management, HR, health and safety, blogs, environmental, photography, administration – wherever I’m needed. Since returning after a short period away from the business due to Covid-19, I find I’m needed in even more places than I ever was before!

How long have you worked at Red Deer?

I have worked at Red Deer since i was 12 years old as it’s a family business – so now about 8 years. It used to just be at school holidays, but I have worked full time for the last 5 years since leaving school.

What is your favourite thing about your job?

I find myself doing something different every day, nothing stays the same! I enjoy advertising and creating blogs the most.

What are your personal origins – how did you come to reside in your current location?

The directors are my dad and uncle.

What are your personal interests and achievements?

I enjoy shopping, hanging out with friends and going to interesting places such as museums, exhibitions and attractions. Since working full time at Red Deer, I have completed a BH&HPA Foundation Degree in Tourism Park Management.

Where is your favourite day trip from Red Deer Village?

I’ve enjoyed the trips to Stepps Bowling Club’s open days. I also like to go to the city centre, and Edinburgh only takes me 1 hour 10 minutes to drive, so that’s a nice day out too.

What do you like best about Stepps and/or Glasgow?

I like that everything I need is conveniently located for me. I have a local gym, beauticians, supermarket, convenience store, garage and any restaurants or shops I could want at Glasgow Fort, which is just 10 minutes away. It means I don’t have to go into the city centre every time I need something. But Glasgow itself is a great day out and it has lots of really fun activities.
