What does your role entail (please include professional interests, awards, associations)?

General Office Duties such as dealing with emails, invoices & taking booking / payments from holiday makers. Ensuring the smooth running of the Holiday Park by managing the booking system, issuing duties to the housekeeping and grounds maintenance staff. Meeting the residents from the site and assisting in any queries/questions they have. Escort potential home owners around the park and show homes, answering questions they may have about our homes for sale and the park in general.

I worked in the Cash in Transit industry for 25 years, with many roles throughout my career from Branch Administrator, Supervisor, Manager to Area Manager. With a variety of responsibilities, I have many transferrable skills to assist me in my new role at Red Deer Village.

How long have you worked at Red Deer?

Since 6th December 2023

What is your favourite thing about your job?

The variety, no two days are the same. With the mix of being in the hub and then having the holiday park to attend as well as showing the homes for sale, this makes it very interesting, however sometimes very busy. It’s nice to meet the residents and put faces to names and hear their stories as to why they chose to move to Red Deer Village.

What are your personal origins – how did you come to reside in your current location?

I’ve always lived in Glasgow, my parents brought me up here and I bought a home to raise my family here too.

What are your personal interests, and achievements (inspirations,
passions)?

I have a young son, an older son and daughter, so I enjoy spending time with them when we can all get together. Going on days out to the cinema or long walks with the dogs. Holidays in Thailand have been a big interest to myself and my family for the last 6 years and I’m currently trying hard to learn the language! Next on the agenda is a scooter/motorbike licence to make travelling easier.
I spend time with my friends and have a girls weekend away every year with a theme, involving some interesting and funny costumes.

Cooking is something I really didn’t do very well before, however I have learned to make some really tasty meals, especially Asian dishes, this is something I enjoy doing very much with my husband (who is much better than me).

Where is your favourite day trip from Red Deer?

Going into Glasgow with my husband for a nice meal and some drinks is something I really enjoy, especially in the summer, Ashton Lane in particular is a favourite for us.

What do you like best about Stepps and/or Glasgow?

I think the people of Glasgow are usually very friendly, which I love. Glasgow is a great City with some lovely places to visit, concerts to attend, restaurants and bars. I think it’s a great place to live and explore.
