Macmillan Coffee Afternoon at Red Deer Village raises over £850!

Red Deer Village, Stepps, has hosted another successful Macmillan Coffee Afternoon in its community hub. Our annual charity Macmillan Coffee Morning raised £652.83 last year. It was the very first event hosted in the new building, only opened a few weeks at the time. 2018 has now raised £855.10!

The hub was designed to provide a fantastic, state-of-the-art resource for the village residents. The area’s local MP, MSP, and Rufus Bellamy, son of TV Botanist David, officially opened it last year. It was created especially for Red Deer Village by leading manufacturer Pathfinder Homes.

A number of villagers organised this year’s Macmillan Coffee Afternoon. Village residents and visitors both attended. John and Ivan Hendry, Village owners, contributed a £250 donation to the total raised.

John Hendry said: “It’s the Community Hub’s first birthday. We can’t think of a better, more fitting event to mark this than the Macmillan Coffee Afternoon. It once again represents what a great place it is for holding events and gathering together. Our residents have done a fantastic job in organising it. We pretty much let our residents choose what they want to see happening in the hub.”

“There’s lots happening here now on a regular basis, including a slimming club, a Movie Night and a Sewing Bee. We will have another Charity Night as Christmas approaches. Our annual Christmas Light switch on will raise money for charity too,” said Ivan Hendry.

Red Deer Village offers luxury residential park homes exclusive to the over 50s community. Park homes start from £99,950, and part exchange is also now available.
